Recent Buy: Tineco S7 Stretch Max

Life with a toddler is messy. Here's why a wet dry vacuum became one of my favorite parenting purchases.

As my toddler is not the kind who sits down properly in her high chair for a long time, and she likes to play with her food, with her greasy hands she touches the floor, food falls to the floor, and many more things make me hate the cleaning time.

After months of sweeping, wiping, and mopping multiple times a day, I finally decided to try a Tineco wet-dry vacuum, and it completely changed my cleaning routine.

If you're a parent dealing with sticky floors, here's my honest experience.

The Reality of Toddler Mealtimes

Actually, my toddler still spoon-feeds, and sometimes she feeds herself, but she can't sit still; she wants to eat while exploring, so food is everywhere around the house, especially the floor.

Some of the daily messes I deal with include:

  • Rice scattered everywhere
  • Sticky fruit pieces
  • Yogurt splatters
  • Milk drips
  • Oily fingerprints
  • Sauce stains

Before using a wet dry vacuum, cleaning usually involved:

  1. Sweeping the floor
  2. Picking up food pieces
  3. Mopping the floor by hand
  4. Drying it with a kitchen towel
  5. Repeating it if still greasy.

And then this process went on and on every day.

Why a Regular Mop Wasn't Enough

The biggest challenge wasn't crumbs.

It was grease.

After meals containing:

  • Salmon
  • Stir-fried vegetables
  • Chicken
  • Eggs
  • Noodles

the floor often felt slightly oily underfoot.

Even after mopping, some areas still felt sticky.

With a crawling baby and now an active toddler touching everything, I wanted the floor to feel genuinely clean.

How the Tineco Wet Dry Vacuum Works

Unlike a traditional vacuum, a wet-dry vacuum vacuums and mops at the same time.

Instead of:

Sweep → Mop

you simply:

Vacuum + Mop in one step

The machine continuously uses clean water while collecting dirty water into a separate tank. This means you're not pushing dirty mop water around the floor. One of the most satisfying parts is seeing how dirty the water becomes after what looked like a "clean" floor.

Why It Works So Well for Toddler Food Messes

1. It Handles Wet and Dry Messes Together

When my toddler drops rice mixed with soup or yogurt mixed with fruit, I don't need to pre-clean. The machine picks up both solid food and liquid messes simultaneously.

2. Removes Sticky Residue

Banana. Avocado. Oatmeal. Yogurt.

Every toddler parent knows these foods can leave a sticky film behind. The wet roller helps lift residue much better than simply sweeping.

3. Great for Greasy Kitchen Floors

One unexpected benefit was how well it handled oily kitchen floors. After cooking, tiny amounts of oil often spread around the kitchen and dining area. The floor feels noticeably fresher after a pass with the Tineco.

4. Faster Than Traditional Mopping

Most days, I can clean the kitchen and dining area in just a few minutes.cThat means more time playing with my toddler and less time cleaning after her.

My Favorite Feature: Self-Cleaning

And most importantly, the one I used can do the self-cleaning and self-drying. I just need to fill the clean water tank with water and the solution, mop the floor effortlessly, clean the dirty water tank, and turn on the self-cleaning mode. After that, just clean the dirty water tank again and leave it to dry.

This means:

  • Less touching dirty rollers
  • Less maintenance
  • Faster cleanup

For parents already juggling meals, laundry, and naps, every small convenience helps.

Is It Worth Buying If You Have a Toddler?

For me, yes. Especially if your child:

  • Self-feeds
  • Eats multiple meals at home
  • Loves sensory play
  • Frequently drops food
  • Creates sticky floor messes

The amount of time saved adds up quickly. Instead of avoiding messes, I feel more relaxed letting my toddler explore food independently because cleanup is much easier. This really helps, and the mess doesn't feel as stressful as before.

Things to Consider Before Buying

A wet-dry vacuum isn't perfect. A few things to keep in mind:

It Still Needs Maintenance

Dirty water tanks should be emptied regularly. And it should be cleaned, as some hair, food, and other debris might be stuck to the tank.

Not Ideal for Thick Rugs

It's designed primarily for hard floors. You need to move the rugs before using this machine, or it can get stuck on the roller.

Battery Life Matters

If you have a large home, check the battery specifications before purchasing. Also, when using the self-cleaning and self-drying mode, it can drain the battery very quickly, and the mode runs for about 10 minutes. But I think it can be switched off if you only want to do the self-cleaning and dry the roller manually. But for me, I just turn it on and then let it finish the mode.

Finally, in my opinion, this is the best buy for me; the Tineco S7 Stretch Max is a lifesaver as I can have more time instead of cleaning the floor every time. In Singapore, I got this one from the Harvey Norman website for S$ 449, with a bonus of 1 cleaning solution 😉

I think you can also see the official store on Shopee, and wait for their flash sale, as it will be cheaper than the normal price. You can also take a look at other products and series 💕
